On September 20, the Public Council at Ukraine's Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War opened a nationwide open creative competition to design a single symbol of solidarity with families of Ukrainian defenders who are held in captivity or missing under special circumstances. The competition proceeds in six stages: works are accepted through 23:59 on November 20, an expert jury reviews submissions from December 1 to 10, finalists are then presented to the public with online voting from December 14 to 24, and the competition commission selects the winning concept within ten working days after voting ends. Separately, on September 23, during the UN General Assembly in New York, OpenAI announced it will provide Ukraine with its Daybreak AI-based cybersecurity system free of charge, alongside access to the GPT 5.6 Sol model. Daybreak is intended to safeguard civilian infrastructure such as hospitals and power plants, combining advanced AI models with Codex Security tools to automate vulnerability discovery, analysis and patching. The transfer is part of OpenAI's $1 billion subsidized security access program aimed at critical infrastructure operators, government bodies and public organizations.
