Poland and Romania refuse Ukraine's request to expand grain transit through their territories
Poland and Romania rejected Ukraine's request to help export grain through Europe as its Black Sea ports remain blockaded. Ukrainian Agrarian Policy Minister Taras Vysotsky traveled to Brussels to ask EU counterparts for permission to transport more agricultural products and for €1.1 billion in transportation cost support. Both countries cited the interests of their own farmers. Vysotsky described the situation as "very, very critical" and warned that up to 35 million tons of grain could remain stuck in Ukraine, putting next year's sown areas at risk of a 35–40% reduction.
